#goals: Part Four: Love & Serve

As Jesus followers, we can set all the goals we want, but if our main goal isn’t to become more like Jesus, then we are missing the whole point of the Christian walk. In the fourth and final installment of our New Year’s series on #goals, Pastor Pete uses the story of Jesus washing his disciples feet to illustrate that our attitude should be the same as his as we follow in the footsteps of the one who said he did not come to be served, but to serve. This is why one of our core values at Life Church Buffalo is to love and serve with intentionality, because as Christians, serving is not what we do; servants is who we are.

In part two of this series, Pastor Beth talked about the storms of life that we all face. When we’re in a storm we often wonder where God is or what He is doing? We looked at a storm the Apostle Paul went through in Acts chapter 27 to learn some principles on what to do when you find yourself in a storm. Never let the presence of a storm cause you to doubt the presence of God.

Pray First...So That You May Glorify God

Prayers aren’t empty words hurled at the sky. They’re conversations—in fact, they’re the most important conversations of our lives. This series focuses on Paul's prayers for the early church and the "so that" statements he used in his writing. This week, Pastor Pete concludes this series by focusing on a topic that unfortunately too often seems to elude the body of Christ…unity. Like Paul prayed in Romans, let’s pray for God to give us the same mind toward each other that Jesus had so that we'll have one mind and voice to glorify God!
