Gift-giving is a part of the Christmas season. We are bombarded by advertisements “informing” us of the things we should possess, covet or give to others to find true happiness. We end up spending most of our time fighting crowds (sometimes literally) and spending money we don’t have just to be a part of the gift-giving experience. In the end, the gifts we give and receive are usually worn for a season or played with for a couple weeks and tossed aside. Where was the promised happiness? This Christmas let us be reminded of the love sacrifice, and personal nature of the greatest gift of all.
